Update on Rahama Sadau Saga: Islamic Scholar wants Rahama Sadau to turn down Hollywood Invite

A Kano-based Islamic scholar, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, has called on Kannywood star, Rahama Sadau not to honour the invitation extended to her to visit the Hollywood in Los Angeles, USA.

In an open letter he wrote to Rahama on Facebook in Hausa, Sheikh Daurawa described the problem the actress had with Kanywood as trial from God to test her faith.

He added that Islam agrees with people being told to mend their ways when they make mistake.

He also suggested that marriage would be better for the actress.

The Ban:

The Motion pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria, MOPPAN, after an emergency meeting a few weeks ago, expelled Kannywood hit actress, Rahama Sadau, from the industry.

Sadau’s offence was that she featured in a 4 minute 19 seconds romantic musical video by ClassiQ.

Reactions poured in immediately the video went viral on social media, with some fans of the popular actress criticising her role in it.

Hollywood Invite:

Since her ban , she has recently been invited  by international superstar, Akon, and US-based Nigerian film-maker, Jeta Amata, to visit the set of their new film in Hollywood – Los Angeles. The news was broken by Akon via his Twitter handle when he tweeted, “Looking forward to seeing you in Los Angeles. Let’s empower our women and motivate them to grow. Fanning them is cooler than banning them.”

An excited Rahama also confirmed accepting the invitation in a series of tweets. She wrote, “Wow, I’m so humbled. Los Angeles calling..so excited about @jeta_amata mata and@akon invitation to visit the set of their new film in Hollywood!!#Rahamasadau….so excited.
